Victor Dahdaleh – Honoured to be awarded the Freedom of the City of London
Victor Philip Dahdaleh has recently been awarded the Freedom of the City of London under the mayoralty of Alastair John Naisbitt King and Chamberlain, Caroline Louise Al-Beyerty.
Victor said, ‘I am truly delighted to be a recipient of the Freedom of the City of London.
It is a rare privilege to now be part of a tradition that extends back as far as the 13th century. And to share this honour with so many giants of history including Sir Winston Churchill and Nelson Mandela. It was all the more special to be awarded the Freedom of the City in the amazing setting of the Guildhall, with so much embedded history, now in the reign of King Charles III.
The ceremony was presided over by the Clerk to the Court of the Chamberlain of the City of London, with sponsor, Alderman Prem Goyal OBE, Chairman of the London Chamber of Commerce in attendance, together with a small gathering of family and friends.
Victor has had a long and close association with the City of London in many different guises. He has been a strong supporter of world trade and commerce through his multiple business interests and particularly through the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce of which he has been a long-term supporter.
Victor and his wife Mona are significant philanthropists, and indeed he is a direct investor in the future success of the City of London. With partners, his DADCO business part owns the 99 Bishopsgate office tower, and he sees more investment and development opportunities ahead in the ‘Square Mile’.
