Victor Phillip and Mona Dahdaleh meet King Charles III at Canada House Centenary visit
Victor Phillip and Mona Dahdaleh were delighted to meet His Royal Highness King Charles III on a recent visit with Queen Camilla to Canada House, home to the Canadian High Commission.
King Charles and the Queen were presented with the Key to Canada House by the High Commissioner, Ralph Goodale, during a visit to mark 100 years since Canada House was first opened in June 1925, by King George V – the present King’s great grandfather.
The King and Queen also viewed a special exhibition on the history of Canada House designed for its centenary. The exhibition is hosted in the High Commission’s dedicated exhibition space, Canada Gallery, both of which have been supported by the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Foundation.
The Foundation has been the principal sponsor of the Canada Gallery for over a decade since it opened, following an extensive renovation of Canada House.
The Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Foundation is a major supporter of education and healthcare programmes in Canada including at McGill University, York University in Toronto and St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. The Foundation is also a major supporter of the Queen Elizabeth II Scholars programme.
The King and Queen also had the chance to view a giant floor map created by The Royal Canadian Geographical Society with Parks Canada, which depicts Canadian National Parks, National Historic Sites and National Marine Conservation Areas.
The visit to Canada House occurred ahead of the King and Queen’s two-day visit to Canada, including the King’s ‘Speech from the Throne’ to Canada’s Parliament – the first time a monarch has delivered this for nearly 50 years.
