Dr Victor Phillip Dahdaleh inducted into the Imperial College London Circle of Benefactors
Dr Victor Phillip Dahdaleh has been welcomed into the Imperial College London ‘Circle of Benefactors’.
The Circle of Benefactors is a group of donors and charity funders whose support is making a profound and wide-ranging impact at Imperial, transforming young lives, accelerating scientific breakthroughs and making a tangible impact on the world.
Professor Hugh Brady, President of Imperial, welcomed Victor as a member of the Circle of Benefactors during a recent visit to Imperial’s South Kensington campus.
Victor has been a donor at Imperial for over 20 years. In 2024, he made a donation that has taken Imperial’s heart and lung research to the next level, creating a new graduate centre.
The gift of over £10 million has supported the refurbishment of the Dr Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Building – a new home for world-changing lung research at Imperial’s Hammersmith Hospital Campus – and has created the Dr Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Graduate Centre for Respiratory and Cardiac Sciences at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI).
A further gift of £2.5 million has also established the Dr Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Graduate Fellowships, bringing his recent support to a total of £12.5 million.
Dr Victor Phillip Dahdaleh said: ‘It has been wonderful to develop a 20-year relationship with Imperial College London, one of the top ranked universities in the world. It is an honour to continue to support its students and the world-leading research, now through the Graduate Centre for Respiratory and Cardiac Sciences.’
Professor Brady said: ‘The Circle of Benefactors was created to celebrate the inspiring philanthropy of Imperial’s closest supporters. Dr Victor Philip Dahdaleh’s generous support for the National Heart and Lung Institute, which is helping to improve treatments for respiratory conditions worldwide, is a wonderful example of the impact that philanthropy has at Imperial. I am delighted to welcome him as a member of the Circle of Benefactors and to see his name appearing on the university’s donor installation.’
The Circle of Benefactors Installation
Victor has been added to the Circle of Benefactors installation which was designed to celebrate the impact of philanthropy at Imperial and recognise some of the university’s most generous donors and charity funders.
One of the roundels of recycled glass in the installation now bears the name of Victor Phillip Michael Dahdaleh’ as the latest member of the Circle of Benefactors.
The work, which was installed in 2023, evokes the cellular structure of a living organism, each roundel distinct from, yet in relation to, those around it.
