The Victor Dahdaleh Foundation is committed to giving underprivileged students from around the world access to higher education by funding major scholarship programmes at top universities.


London School of Economics: a global institution

A leading donor to the London School of Economics, Victor Dahdaleh has funded a range of new facilities at the institution. The Foundation has also funded the Chevening Scholarships, a programme to give underprivileged students the opportunity to study at the LSE along with other universities. Victor Dahdaleh is an Honorary Fellow of the LSE and has been a governor since 1995, actively promoting the school’s interests around the world.


McGill University scholarships

McGill Unversity in Montreal, Canada is one of world’s top research-intensive medical-doctoral universities, leading world-class research into cancer treatment, chronic disease and neuroscience. Since 2007 the Foundation has funded an endowment for the award in perpetuity of 32 annual scholarships. The scholarships are targeted at outstanding international full-time undergraduates from low-income countries, with preference given to countries in the Middle East.


Northwood African Educational Trust

The Foundation is a donor to the Northwood African Educational Trust is a charity set up to build and finance St George’s School in the Azezo area of Gondar in northwest Ethiopia. St George’s is an independent co-educational school which provides high quality, free education for orphaned, disadvantaged and vulnerable children in the area.

At present there are 200 children enrolled at the school, which now has plans to expand beyond the current facilities to build new classrooms and an IT suite.
